Kettering Elementary School recently honored the memory of Mark Bixby with the following heartfelt tribute on the school's marquee:

Bixby was one of five people who died March 16 in a twin-engine plane crash at Long Beach Airport.
A member of one of Long Beach's founding families, Bixby often donated time and resources to children's causes, including student scholarships through Long Beach Rotary.
Bixby's efforts had a positive and lasting impact upon students throughout the Long Beach Unified School District.
