Demolition Under Way at DeMille

Demolition of the former DeMille Middle School site is progressing as workers make way for a new high school that will accommodate about 1,000 students.

The small high school will focus on college and career readiness and will help to alleviate enrollment pressure at other LBUSD high schools, many of which are among the largest high schools in California.

The project is funded by Measure K school bonds, approved in 2008 by 71 percent of local voters.  Measure K funds by law can be used only for school renovation and construction.
