Pre-candidates
Pre-candidates Phase I Obligations
In order to be eligible for district support for the NBPTS, each pre-candidate will be required to complete the following:
- Program application (complete with three letters of recommendation)
- Participation in 18 hours of Pre-Candidacy professional development (which may be virtual this school year.
- Completion of all assignments related to Pre-Candidacy program

Proof of Permanent Contract (verified by OCIPD through LYNX)
Pre-candidates Phase II Obligations
After completion of the pre-candidate professional development, pre-candidates will submit Component 2 applications to the LBUSD Oversight Committee for National Board Certification. This committee will make the final decision about the advancement of pre-candidates to the LBUSD sponsored National Board candidacy.
