Community

Community involvement takes many forms in the Long Beach Unified School District. Thousands of volunteers assist in classrooms. Hundreds of local businesses and community organizations participate in business partnerships with local schools. Nearby higher education institutions such as California State University, Long Beach, the CSU Chancellor's Office and Long Beach City College work closely with the school district to provide outstanding learning opportunities for youngsters. The non-profit, volunteer-driven Long Beach Education Foundation provides grants and other key assistance to local schools, raising funds through employee and community contributions.
