Hello Millikan Community,
The school year is
progressing very well as we near the end of the second week. The students have all been assigned
classes and they are doing an excellent job of getting to class on time. The only problem that we are running
into is during the first period of the day. The students are still running to class in order to be on
time. Please help our students
plan their mornings better so that they are able to arrive at school with
plenty of time to spare. Remember
that traffic in front of the school is horrendous in the morning.
All of our students have
been very good about wearing their uniform on a daily basis. We are very pleased about the
enforcement of the dress code. I
would like to point out two small issues that we are currently addressing. Firstly, all exposed undergarments must
be white. This includes tee shirts
that are worn under the collared shirts.
Secondly, all outer clothing must be solid navy blue, white or
yellow. The only logo that is
allowed on campus is a Millikan logo.
There was a mistake in the summer mailer uniform dress code flyer, which
stated that outer clothing will be allowed in solid khaki. Millikan will honor that uniform flyer
and khaki outer clothing will be allowed this school year.
We have finally been able
to get the majority of our students their identification cards. These cards must be worn above the
waist and they should not be removed while the student is on campus. I have attached a note regarding the ID
cards.
I also wanted to remind
the parents that our daily bulletin is posted on-line. You can find the bulletin under the
School Information icon of the Millikan High School webpage at http://www3.lbusd.k12.ca.us:81/millikan
.
The Ram Varsity Football
team chalked up their first victory last Friday against Warren High School. I was very impressed with our RAM
football team’s skill on the field.
Come out and support our RAMS at their second home game this Friday as
they take the field against Fountain Valley High School. The game will start at 7:00 P.M.
All my best,
Jeff
