Tobacco Education

 

Law:

California law prohibits minors under the age of 18 from purchasing, receiving, or even processing tobacco products or any paraphernalia designed to prepare or smoke tobacco products. Punishment for breaking this law is a fine of $75 or more, or you could be sentenced to 30 hours of community work or more. It is also against the law to knowingly sell, give or furnish tobacco products to minors.

Millikan H.S. offers various services to you including a service that promotes good health, a good self-image, and may add a number of years to your life. The (TUPE) Tobacco Use Prevention Education program at Millikan is designed to help students receive help in areas of tobacco prevention, slow down or reduce, and hopefully eliminate using tobacco products. Our goal is to provide you with knowledge, confidence, and tools necessary to help you make positive choices regarding you health. If you need assistance in any of these areas or know someone who can benefit from this program, please encourage them to come see one of our TUPE staff members.
