Dear Millikan Community,

Hello and welcome back from the Spring Vacation. I hope that our students and staff had a chance to recharge their batteries for the last part of the school year. This year is going by so fast that I believe June is just around the corner.

On Sunday, the Press Telegram had a very informative insert titled “Experience College 2005.” This insert is of great assistance to both college bound students and their parents. There was also a really nice article about Millikan High School 12^th grader, Claudia Bugarin and her acceptance at Mills College in San Francisco. She has overcome many obstacles and has become a shining star. Congratulations to Claudia!

The Press Telegram also reported “Katlin Greiving is a senior at Millikan High School. She has completed hundreds of community service hours. For Katlin's WoHeLo project, she took on a leadership role in coordinating a council event for spring. This event gave younger Camp Fire members the opportunity to participate in fun spring activities. Katlin's leadership allowed for a successful event. In addition to Camp Fire, Katlin is a member of the varsity swim and Water Polo team and has swum at Millikan all four years. Katlin is a candidate for the Congressional Award, Bronze medal.

Sarah Deister is a senior at Millikan High School. She has completed over 600 hours of community service during her high school years. For Sarah's WoHeLo, project she served in a leadership role during the summer camp program Camp Shiwaka. Sarah's many years of experience with Camp Fire has made her a true leader. In addition to Camp Fire, Sarah is in Girl Scouts and has earned the Gold Award. She also swims on Millikan's swim team. She has been a member of the swim team for all four years. Sarah is a candidate for the Congressional Award, Gold Medal.”
