Dear Millikan Community,
Hello, I wanted to let
you all know about the Millikan High School
presentation of Rogers
and Hammerstein's "The King
and I." This play, based on Anna and the King of Siam by Margaret
Landon, had its opening last
night and was a joy to watch. The
students and their instructors put countless hours into this performance and
their time and preparation has really paid off. The cast was simply awesome. This polished high school performance
and the students who pulled it off, make me proud! The Director: Wendy Atwell, the Orchestra Director: Bonnie
Annes, the Vocal Director: John Harvey, the Technical Director: Robert Brigham,
the Choreographer: Gwen Gibson and the Piano Accompanist: Jan Bajza all deserve
a huge round of applause for this student production.
If you have not had an
opportunity to see the play, please come and enjoy. The play will run through Saturday, March 5th. Every performance will start promptly
at 7:00 p.m. I hope to see you at
the play supporting the Millikan High School Performing Arts.
Jeff
A farmer who had a quarrelsome
family called his sons and told them to lay a bunch of sticks before him.
Then, after laying the sticks parallel to one another and binding them, he
challenged his sons, one after one, to pick up the bundle and break it. They
all tried, but in vain. Then, untying the bundle, he gave them the sticks
to break one by one. This they did with the greatest ease. Then said the father,
"Thus, my sons, as long as you remain united, you are a match for anything,
but differ and separate, and you are undone." -
