Bethune
Holiday Party

Thanks
to our supportive parents, students, and staff, the first annual
PEACE/Bethune holiday party was a huge success! Bethune students
enjoyed holiday treats, fun activities, gifts, and a special audience
with Santa, himself!
Judy
Seal Bethune Scholarship (Class of 2008)
Everyday
in Long Beach , according to the City of Long Beach 10-Year Plan
to End Homeless, “nearly 4,475 adults and children are without
a home and hundreds more are on the verge of homelessness.” To
remedy the situation, Millikan High School 's P.E.A.C.E. Academy
Senior Class of 2008, along with the E.L.E.V.A.T.E program, established
a scholarship for three students at the Bethune Transitional Center
. This $200.00 scholarship was awarded to students who have demonstrated
academic achievement and outstanding citizenship in both their
school and community.
