ELEVATE is an alliance of proactive individuals who are determined to break down racial barriers and to create systemic change by influencing peaceful dialogue and organizing community events that promote racial tolerance.
Mission : This year ELEVATE has taken on the task of promoting respect and tolerance on Millikan's own campus. Members are already taking big steps to raise awareness of our cause as well as some great efforts to bring Millikan's students together cheerfully. One such effort is the introduction of the acronym S.T.A.R.T. (Students Together Advocating Respect & Tolerance) which will appear on RAM colored wristband and will come with an ID sized card listing suggestions for random acts of kindness and a pledge toward promoting school wide respect and tolerance. These will be sold to any student or staff for $2. Each card (to be worn on lanyard with ID) will have a unique number which will be entered into several drawings for various prizes. Additionally, ELEVATE students will join forces to create a short movie to be played at the beginning of the cultural assembly that will also promote our cause. Several other events are being developed that students, staff and all their families will want to participate in. Look for more details in the near future.
