Season Notes

Millikan 55, LB Jordan 67

The Boys Basketball team played tough but came up short at Jordan last night 55-67. Millikan was lead by Malcolm Whittington, and Andrew Scott, who had 17 points each.

Millikan 73, Compton 76

Malcolm Whittington dropped 10 of his game-high 31 points in the third quarter, and Devon James tallied three assists while being the most active on the floor defensively but that was not enough. The Rams fall to

2-4 in league after their third loss by three points or less.

MIllikan 74, Lakewood 49

Millikan 54, Cabrillo 56

Millikan 47, LB Poly 64

The Rams jumped out to an 11-8 lead late in the first quarter, but turnovers and eight points off those miscues for the Jackrabbits sparked an 8-0 run to end the quarter.

Millikan 52, Wilson 45

The Rams (1-1) scored 20 pts in the 4th quarter to seal the victory at home against Wislon (0-2). Millikan will have a bye on Monday January 11, 2010 and take on the LB Poly Jackrabbits Wednesday Jan. 13 @ Poly.

Millikan 66, LB Jordan 68

The Rams lost their Moore League opener to the Panthers in another tough contest 66-68. Millikan outscored Jordan 25 to17 in the third quarter to take a 53-48 lead into the final period of the game.

However the Panthers outscored the Rams 20-13 in the 4th quarter to win by two points.

Millikan 56, Morningside 50

The Rams finished in 3rd place at the Redondo tournament over the Christmas Break by defeating Morningside HS 56 to 50. Millikan will open Moore League play Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM

against the Jordan Panthers at home. Come out and support the team. GO RAMS.

Millikan 80, Hawthrone 58

After a tough over time loss to St. John Bosco, the Rams bounced back with a 80-58 victory over Hawthorne in the Redondo Sea Hawk Classic on Saturday at Redondo High. Millikan (6-5), will play Bishop Montgomery, which defeated Locke, in a quarterfinal game Monday night at 5:30p.m., also at Redondo. GO RAMS.

Millikan 52, Corona 41

The Rams won the Consolation Championship of the Irvine World News Tournament by defeating both

El Dorado and El Segundo this past weekend. Millikan went 3-1 in the tournament improving their record

to 5-4. The Rams will host St. John Bosco Tuesday December 22, 2009 at 6 PM. GO RAMS.

MIllikan 65, El Segundo 48

Millikan 69, El Dorado 61

The RAMS had nine players score in their victory over El Dorado Wednesday night with Malcolm Whittington contributing 24pts to lead all scorers. Millikan will continue play in the Irvine World News Friday night against El Segundo HS.

Millikan 64, Peninsula 67

The Rams dropped another tough contest, on the road, in overtime to Peninsula HS 64-67. Malcolm Whittington sank 5 Three's on his way to scoring 33 of the Rams 64. Next contest will be on Tuesday December 15 in the Irvine World News Tournament against El Toro. GO RAMS.

Millikan 55, Diamond Ranch 48

The Rams won two games over the weekend to even their record to 2-2 on the young season. Coach Jeff Breuklander reports that senior forward, Andrew Scott, received All Tournament Honors. Go Rams.

Millikan 57, Bell 31

Millikan 69, MLKing 70

Another tough loss for the Rams in the Cerritos/Gahr Tournament as they lost a hard fought contest to the CIF Defending Champions MLKing. Millikan will play Friday at 3PM vs. Bell @ Cerritos. GO RAMS.

Millikan 70, Cerritos 78

Despite scoring 70 points, the Rams lost their season opener to a scrappy Cerritos team last night 70-78. the Rams just could not stop Cerritos guard, Chris Keseloff, who drained 10 three point shots and finished the game with 40 points. Millikan will face the defending CIF Champions ML King in the second round of play Thursday December 3 6:00 PM at Cerritos HS. GO RAMS.

Millikan 60, Los Al 71

The Rams lost a hotly contested game, 71-60, to the #4-ranked Griffins at Los Alamitos in the first round of the CIF Playoffs. Kierre Beverly, hit six three-pointers on the way to 28 points in his last game as a Ram.  The 6'4” shooting guard shot 10-16 from the field and kept Millikan in the game from start to finish, scoring 13 of the team's 16 first quarter points. When asked about his teams' preformance coach Breuklander said, “I'm very proud of my guys for their effort. They did a great job against a very strong team and kept it close. That's all you can ask for.” Great job all guys. GO RAMS.
