Superintendent’s Goals for the 2011-12 School Year
AIM:
All goals and objectives will support the implementation of the Academic and Career Success Initiative
Goal 1:
(a)
All schools will develop intervention plans to close the achievement gap in the district's four lowest performing sub-groups.
(b)
All secondary schools will develop intervention plans for students who are less than proficient in algebra and geometry.
Goal 2:
All district offices will assist school personnel in their efforts to implement the goals and objectives identified in the Long Beach Unified School District's Strategic Plan by developing and implementing department action plans with measurable results that address the initiatives and tying resource allocations to these plans. Department action plans will be shared with the Board of Education.
Goal 3:
Provide the Board regular updates on the progress of new initiatives in the district to lower the dropout rate.
Goal 4:
Provide the Board regular updates on the progress of Long Beach College Promise.
Goal 5:
Provide the Board regular updates on the goals and objectives of the Long Beach Unified School District/Fresno Unified School District Partnership.
Goal 6:
Provide the Board regular updates on the goals and objectives of the LBUSD Strategic Plan and Academic and Career Success Initiative.
Goal 7:
Provide the Board regular updates on the progress of the North Long Beach Initiative.
Goal 8:
Provide the Board with staff recommendations on a five-year sub-plan on instructional support services.
