Baldrige Initiative

The Baldrige Office provides training and support for teachers and district leaders at all levels using the Baldrige Framework to improve processes at the district, school site, and classroom level in order to increase student achievement, operational effectiveness, and stakeholder and employee satisfaction.

The Baldrige approach is named after Malcolm Baldrige, who from 1981 to 1987 was U.S. Secretary of Commerce. He developed quality improvement strategies and criteria used by the nation’s leading corporations. His efforts were recognized by Congress in 1987.
