This page provides basic information about H1N1 swine flu. It is one of many proactive measures that our district is taking to ensure the health and safety of all students and staff members.
At this time, two mild cases of swine flu have been reported in our schools. All schools remain open. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "School closure is not advised for a suspected or confirmed case of novel influenza A (H1N1) and, in general, is not advised unless there is a magnitude of faculty or student absenteeism that interferes with the school’s ability to function."
Based on advice from the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services, we want to remind you of the following precautionary steps to protect your family:
