The Long Beach Unified School District, in partnership with Junior Achievement, and members of the Greater Long Beach Community, presents skill development and career awareness lesson activities in our district's kindergarten through high school classrooms. Junior Achievement (JA) is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics, and free enterprise. JA programs are taught by volunteers in class and after-school at locations throughout the United States and in 97 countries. Trained business and community volunteers offer these easy-to-present lessons in district classrooms, supported and assisted by the classroom teacher.

Your commitment could vary from a single school day to a weekly visit of one hour each for five to 10 weeks. It all depends on the grade level of the program you choose. Training is provided in a one-to-two hour session provided by district staff. You can choose your classroom based on a number of factors. We're flexible!
