Initiative Progress

The goal of the Academic and Career Success Initiative is to increase the college and career readiness of all students so they graduate from high school with as many options as possible. On April 1, 2008, the Board of Education approved district-wide metrics and 2013 target goals that will be used to report the Initiative’s progress. A formal report on the district’s progress will be provided annually, while informal status reports will be provided throughout the year.

Long Beach College Promise

The Long Beach College Promise aims to make higher education an attainable goal for all students by building on a longstanding collaboration between the Long Beach Unified School District, Long Beach City College, and California State University, Long Beach. The three “Seamless Education” partners are committed to providing regular progress reports to the community. These reports, which show how students are successfully reaching their college goals, have a direct connection to the Academic and Career Success Initiative.
