Preschool, elementary, middle and high school parents and students are invited to attend the LBUSD’s eleventh annual Parent Summit at Lakewood High School on Saturday, April 28.
Check in begins at 8 a.m., and the General Assembly will convene at 9 a.m. Workshops will be from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and will be followed by lunch, entertainment and door prizes. From 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. a community fair will be held in the quad. City, county and non-profit agencies will share valuable information with participants.
Workshop topics include information on preparing students for college, financial aid and scholarships, gifted programs, transitioning between grade levels, special education, study skills, behavior modification and cultural awareness, computer skills, career and technology education, and gang awareness.
Workshops will be offered in English, Spanish and Khmer. The event is free, and transportation and childcare will be provided.
