ALBEM, the Association of Long Beach Educational Managers, today is honoring 133 new educational partnerships with local schools. These enlightened businesses, corporations and nonprofits have committed to helping students and teachers. The Long Beach Unified School District now has 928 education partners, a new record.
They offer encouragement, recognition, rewards and incentives to students to improve their achievement, attendance, grades and behavior. Some provide guest speakers or contribute equipment, materials, publications and volunteers. They have provided trees and garden plantings at schools, showcased student work in their businesses, provided school carnival prizes, rewarded teachers and helped schools in hundreds of other ways.
