Public Input Sought on School Names

Long Beach Unified School District Superintendent Christopher J. Steinhauser is appointing a committee to:

  • Vet potential names of new schools;
  • Establish a process for renaming existing schools (examining related costs); and
  • Review the names of all existing schools and make any necessary recommendations for renaming.

The committee will include representation of parents, employees, students and other members of the community.

Applications to join the committee may be submitted here until 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14. Suggested names for schools may be submitted here by the same deadline.
