Concentration Grant Allocation OK'd

The state’s new Local Control Funding Formula model for California school districts includes three components: a base grant, a supplemental grant and a concentration grant.

The supplemental grant and the concentration grant are provided as additional funding based on the number of “students in need” enrolled in the district.  Students in need are defined as students living in poverty, English language learners and foster home students.

The Long Beach Unified School District Board of Education at its last regular meeting approved allocation of Concentration Grant funding in a manner that allows for the majority of the funding to be controlled by school sites.  The approval allows school sites to construct plans to serve students in a manner that addresses some or all of the eight state priorities under LCFF.
