More Than 5,900 Students Graduate

More than 5,900 students graduated from the Long Beach Unified School District this month during 12 separate ceremonies.

Poly and Poly Academy of Achievers and Leaders had 1,085 graduates.  Millikan awarded 932 diplomas; Lakewood, 903; Wilson, 900; Jordan, 745; Cabrillo, 560; EPHS, 300; CAMS, 158; Reid, 115; School for Adults, 100; Renaissance, 94; Avalon, 43; and Beach High School, 15.

Graduating seniors earned a record $76.6 million in scholarships and grants this year.  The total is about $24 million more than the previous record set last year and represents more than a four-fold increase since 2007.
