Middle School Sports Raises $100K

Private donors have contributed more than $100,000 to help save middle school sports from budget cuts next year as the fundraising drive progresses toward its $190,000 goal.

A recent event at the AES Alamitos Power Plant on Studebaker Avenue raised nearly $20,000 plus a $20,000 match from AES.

Parents, coaches, students and local businesses have made contributions since the Long Beach Unified School District this year cut middle school sports due to the state budget crisis.

Donation and program information is available at on the Save Middle School Sports webpage.
