Twenty-nine nominations for the Classified Employee of the Year Award have been narrowed down to six finalists. The top winner is scheduled to be announced during the noon to 3 p.m. Ice Cream Social held in honor of Classified Employee Week on Friday, May 20 at the Teacher Resource Center. The awards ceremony starts at 1 p.m. when all finalists and nominees will be honored.
Finalists also will be honored at the May 17 school board meeting, and the winner of the top award will be recognized at the June 7 board meeting.
This year’s finalists are Dianna Bisnar, intermediate office assistant at Garfield; John Bosley, campus security officer at Lindsey; Donelle Castro, instructional aide – deaf/hard of hearing at Marshall; Sam Hill, plant supervisor II at Cubberley; Dewayne Hundley, custodian at Lakewood; and Steve Phelps, custodian at Bryant.
Nomination papers were submitted by colleagues and reviewed by a committee of classified employees.
No school district funds are used for the Ice Cream Social, which is made possible by donations.
