The Office of Equity, Access and College & Career Readiness is responsible for the screening, application process, and placement of college student aides funded out of categorical state and federal funds. College student aides provide another adult in the classroom to support student learning at the direction of the classroom teacher. College student aides must meet or exceed strict No Child Left Behind guidelines in order to be eligible for hiring and placement. Students must verify by school transcripts completion of college level courses totaling 48 semester units, 72 quarter units, or completion of an AA/BA degree to be hired. College student aides may be hired at a maximum of 18 hours per week (days and hours vary by school site/program).

The application packet has two downloadable parts:

- Supplemental Application Packet & Policy Review
The following items must also accompany the packet:
- Copy of a Current Photo Identification
- Copy of Social Security Card
- Copy of unofficial college transcripts
- Copy of college class schedule (as applicable)
- Copy of results of TB test
Upon completion of the application, you must submit the entire packet to the College Student Aide Desk, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm at the LBUSD Administration Building, located at 1515 Hughes Way, Long Beach, CA 90810.
*Special note for hours of availability: Vacancies are commonly at school sites; college aide student support is usually between the hours of 7:30am to 2:30 pm at the sites.
